Cleaning the Room and Enjoying Your Work

Cleaning The Room And Enjoying Your Work

Are you ready to see the final results of your hard work? Before you can complete your painting project and fully admire all that you have accomplished, you have to finish the effort by thoroughly cleaning your space.

At this point in your project, you may be rather tired from your efforts, but you also can already see the fruits of labors and may be excited about putting your room back together. Rest assured that your project is almost complete. Cleaning the room is a necessary part of any painting project, and you can actually take a great deal of enjoyment out of this process as you put your space back together and see the final results in front of you.

Throw the Trash Away
The cleaning process sounds tedious, but this aspect of your project can actually progress rather quickly. For example, you may have painstakingly laid down plastic sheeting or a drop cloth over your floor to catch drips and spills, but now you can simply pull plastic sheeting into a pile to toss away or fold your drop cloth up for storage. Paint brushes and rollers can be cleaned as directed, or you may toss them if you do not plan to complete another painting project. Store your paint cans away in the event you need to do touch-ups in the future. These efforts will generally only take a few minutes of your time, and you will be able to fully see your finished work after this process.

Replace Furniture and Outlet Covers, Clean Windows
Your room is still not ready to be used, however. Now, you must replace all of the furniture that you moved out of the way to paint it. Replace outlet covers. If you took down blinds and drapes, these will need to be put back in place or replaced with new blinds and drapes that correspond with your new color scheme. This process also can move along rather quickly, and you will have a fully usable room after you have taken these steps. Even before that, never forget to clean the windows.

Add the Finishing Touches
A final step to take to finish your decorating efforts is to add finishing touches to your room décor. You may be able to pull some pieces from other rooms in the home, or you may need to purchase a few additional items. Think about using traditional Irish decorations, such as family crests, plaques or mottos. The Irish flag, crosses and even shamrocks all have special meaning to them in Irish culture and in religion, and these are all lovely new additions that you can use on walls, tables and other areas for decorative effect.

After you have completed these final steps in the painting and decorating process, you can stand back and admire your work. Your efforts are complete, and your room may now look amazing. With a fresh coat of paint and the perfect finishing touches in the room, you may have been able to improve the style and even give the room a fresher, brighter appearance overall. In fact, this may now be among your favourite rooms in the home.
